Every experience with cancer is unique and it will take all of us\, united\, to create a world where we look beyond the disease and see the person before the patient. A world where the needs of people and communities are at the centre of health systems.” (Union for International Cancer Control 2025) \nClick here to book your place –  \n\nwith lunch = 17 €\nwithout lunch = FREE\n\nLunch \nIt promises to be another day of sharing\, with a nutritious light three-course Mediterranean lunch from Ken & Alison’s Catering served from 12.30 pm. \nAGM 2:00 pm \nThe AGM and Members’ meeting from 2pm – 3pm\, will be followed by a presentation from Josephine Dolan-Dufourd\, occupational therapist at 3pm on “The importance of being considered a person rather than a patient: techniques for reducing stress when this isn’t the case”. \nWe will be introducing a variety of information on cancer prevention and treatment. DESCRIPTION:The 15th anniversary of Cancer Support France – Languedoc\, followed by a Members’ meeting \nWednesday 16 October at the Salle des Fêtes in Margon from 11.30 am to 4pm. \nIn addition you can sample a short workshop run by Josephine Dolan – Dufour\, an Occupational Therapist\, on “Practical Skills for a Balanced and Meaningful Life” . She will introduce practical tools and strategies for improving well-being and overcoming daily challenges that people can immediately apply to enhance their daily routines and quality of life\, including for some of the common problems of anxiety\, sleep\, pain\, fatigue and low mood. \nCoffee will be served from 11.30 am and you are invited to lunch and coffee at 1 pm with another delicious three course meal and coffee\, from Ken and Alison’s catering. DESCRIPTION:CÉLÉBRATION DE LA JOURNÉE MONDIALE CONTRE LE CANCER \nA LA SALLE DES FÊTES DE MARGON (34320) \nLE MARDI 6 FÉVRIER 2024 (ouverture des portes à 11h30) \nNous vous invitons chaleureusement à vous joindre à nous pour célébrer la Journée mondiale de lutte contre le cancer\, consacrée à la prévention\, la détection et le traitement du cancer. \nOfficialisée à Paris en 2000 lors d’un sommet international\, une « Charte de Paris contre le Cancer » était signée par nombreux chefs d’Etat avec comme but d’améliorer la qualité de vie des personnes touchées par le cancer\, ainsi que d’augmenter des investissements dans la recherche\, la prévention et les traitements. \nLe mardi 6 février 2024\, des stands d’information seront mis en place et des bénévoles bilingues\, formés par Cancer Support France – Languedoc\, seront présents pour répondre à vos questions. \nVous y trouverez des informations sur les avancées récentes en matière de prévention et de dépistage des cancers courants\, plus particulièrement ceux qui touchent les hommes comme le cancer de la prostate\, et le cancer du col de l’utérus chez les femmes. Un déjeuner convivial sera servi à 13h par Ken and Alison’s Catering\, au prix de 15 euros par personne.
