Cancer Support France – Languedoc will be introducing a variety of information on cancer prevention and treatment and trained volunteers from Cancer Support France – Languedoc will be available to answer any queries. \nIt promises to be a fun day of sharing\, with a nutritious light lunch from Ken and Alison’s Catering being served at 1pm\, price 15 €. \nWe advise you to reserve in advance at csf.languedoc@gmail.com or by leaving us a message on the Helpline\, 04 66 44 87 04. \nThroughout the day you are invited to take part in a quiz with several surprise prizes to be won! \nThose interested in finding out more about our association are invited to stay for the AGM and Members’ meeting from 2pm – 3pm. \nWhat is World Cancer Day? \nWorld Cancer Day was made official at the first World Summit Against Cancer in 2000. The event took place in Paris and was attended by members of cancer organisations and government leaders from around the world. The “Charter of Paris against Cancer” was signed\, outlining a global commitment to improving the quality of life of cancer patients\, along with promoting increased investment in research\, prevention and treatment. \nYou will find information concerning\, above all\, recent advances in the prevention and screening of common cancers\, specifically this year those affecting men such as prostate cancer and cervical cancer in women here.

DESCRIPTION:CÉLÉBRATION DE LA JOURNÉE MONDIALE CONTRE LE CANCER \nA LA SALLE DES FÊTES DE MARGON (34320) \nLE MARDI 6 FÉVRIER 2024 (ouverture des portes à 11h30) \nNous vous invitons chaleureusement à vous joindre à nous pour célébrer la Journée mondiale de lutte contre le cancer\, consacrée à la prévention\, la détection et le traitement du cancer. \nOfficialisée à Paris en 2000 lors d’un sommet international\, une « Charte de Paris contre le Cancer » était signée par nombreux chefs d’Etat avec comme but d’améliorer la qualité de vie des personnes touchées par le cancer\, ainsi que d’augmenter des investissements dans la recherche\, la prévention et les traitements. \nLe mardi 6 février 2024\, des stands d’information seront mis en place et des bénévoles bilingues\, formés par Cancer Support France – Languedoc\, seront présents pour répondre à vos questions. \nVous y trouverez des informations sur les avancées récentes en matière de prévention et de dépistage des cancers courants\, plus particulièrement ceux qui touchent les hommes comme le cancer de la prostate\, et le cancer du col de l’utérus chez les femmes. Un déjeuner convivial sera servi à 13h par Ken and Alison’s Catering\, au prix de 15 euros par personne. Drop-In days were set up specifically for people affected by cancer\, whether as a patient\, a carer for someone with cancer\, or someone who has lost a partner (or close one) from cancer.  You’ll find more information here.
