We warmly invite you to join us in an event to mark World Cancer Day which is observed worldwide in February each year. Cancer Support France – Languedoc will be introducing a variety of information on cancer prevention and treatment and trained volunteers from Cancer Support France – Languedoc will be available to answer any queries.

It promises to be a fun day of sharing, with a nutritious light lunch from Ken and Alison’s Catering being served at 1pm, price 15 €.

Throughout the day you are invited to take part in a quiz with several surprise prizes to be won!

Those interested in finding out more about our association are invited to stay for the AGM and Members’ meeting from 2pm – 3pm.

What is World Cancer Day?

World Cancer Day was made official at the first World Summit Against Cancer in 2000. The event took place in Paris and was attended by members of cancer organisations and government leaders from around the world. The “Charter of Paris against Cancer” was signed, outlining a global commitment to improving the quality of life of cancer patients, along with promoting increased investment in research, prevention and treatment.

You will find information concerning, above all, recent advances in the prevention and screening of common cancers, specifically this year those affecting men such as prostate cancer and cervical cancer in women here.
